Vaurgch are incredibly massive, averaging a weight three times that of Humans. They are also the strongest sentient race so far discovered in the explored galaxy.
Vaurgch are slow creatures, and their sight is dismal. Combined with their extremely low intelligence and ugly appearance, Vaurgch are poor candidates for any form of merchant or technical-oriented work. However, Vaurgch make reasonable miners (provided their environment is properly lit). A single Vaurgch can be considered an impressive brute squad for guard duty, and gives even the boldest trio of Klingons good reason for pause.
Vaurgch avoid dense centers of population, preferring remote settlements or colonies. They do, however, enjoy the company of any Human who has the stomach for their gruesome appearance. Vaurgch consider Humans humorous and wise in comparison, and often seek them out for advice.
Vaurgch also have a notable affinity for the Artris race, whom they regard as especially tasty -- either fried or eaten raw.
