Who they are:
The most striking thing about the Critins is that they are born blind. Many of them stay blind because they originate from underground and never venture topside. Those unintentionally abandoned or lost do eventually find themselves exposed to the strange outerworld known as Core and adapt. They develop their sight, though not perfect, and are forced to raise themselves. The results are Critins who are stronger and healthier than their underground counterparts. Their prehensile tail packs quite a whallop too.
